I am deeply honored to serve as the principal of Henry Coaster Memorial School (HCMS), a place rich in history and grounded in the strength and pride of our First Nations community. Since its establishment in the 1990s, HCMS has been a pillar of education in our community, seeing generations of students graduate and pursue their dreams. We are incredibly proud of our students, whose paths have taken them to secondary and post-secondary institutions, showcasing the diverse and vibrant futures our children can achieve.

 

HCMS is not just a school; it is a community school where the presence of First Nations leadership is woven into the fabric of everything we do. We are privileged to work alongside our esteemed elders, Chief and Council, as well as our dedicated education councillor, Maria Baxter, and our Education Director, Susanna Baxter. Their guidance and wisdom are integral to our mission of providing an education that honors our traditions while preparing students for a bright future.

 

Our mission at HCMS is to create a learning environment where every student belongs, and where every student can achieve success. We are committed to supporting students to walk in the footsteps of their ancestors, with an education rooted in the values, culture, and history of our community. We strive to empower our children to embrace their heritage and develop the skills they need to thrive in the modern world.

 

At HCMS, we are fortunate to have a team of highly dedicated and caring professionals who are committed to the success of every child. Our classrooms are designed to be inclusive, welcoming spaces where the individual needs of each student are supported.
